Hot tips for Dreamforce15 by Katie Augustus from Salesforce

Katie Augustus Salesforce AnalyticsKatie is the Product Marketing Manager for Analytics at Salesforce, which makes her the perfect person to talk with if you are a analytics geek looking for some cool insights on Dreamforce and Wave.

Wave Analytics debuted last year at Dreamforce, one year later what can we expect to see?

Wave has come a long way since it’s launch last Dreamforce. This year you can expect to see how we’re making analytics even more accessible to the business user with tools designed specifically for Sales and Service. You’ll also hear from a long list of customers who have been using Wave since launch and will share their best practices and success stories.

Last year, attendees who visit the Wave floor could even surf. What exciting things there will be in the Analytics zone this year?

This year, the Analytics Cloud experience is all about winning with Wave: in the Product Showcase in Moscone North, you can play the Wave Game for a chance to win an Apple Watch. In the Analytics Zone, come take a selfie in our photo booth and take home a selfie stick! Of course, #winwithwave is really about how our customers win with the Analytics Cloud–you’ll hear customer stories throughout the four days in the Analytics Theatre in the analytics zone and of course, the product keynote on Thursday morning is not to be missed. There will even be a special musical guest…

What Analytics sessions you wouldn’t miss this year?

That’s tough! There are so many great ones!

I would say that some do-not-miss sessions are the Analytics Cloud Keynote on Thursday morning, the Introduction to Wave Analytics: Analytics for Salesforce Users session and our Customer Roundtable: Wave Rockstars Share their Transformation Stories session. Regardless of your background or experience with Wave, these sessions will give you a killer overview of the product, how customers have implemented it and how it’s changing their businesses.

If you’re looking for a more specialized approach to your Analytics Cloud session experience, we’ve outlined four perfect days of analytics, whether you’re in Sales, Service or Marketing. Check out the @Analytics @ Dreamforce Success Community group to catch our most up to date recommendations!

What advice would you give to someone interested in Analytics and going to Dreamforce for the first time?

I think the breakout sessions are one of the best ways to learn about the Analytics Cloud, and what many Dreamforce first-timers don’t know is that there is space reserved for walk-ins. If a session you are really excited about looks full online, show up anyway!
